Amazon Prime Video January 2025 Highlights: This Month’s Must-Watch Premieres
1. “The Rig” Season 2 – Premiered January 2, 2025
The supernatural thriller “The Rig” returns for Season 2, and the mystery only deepens. The survivors leave the North Sea for a secret offshore facility called the Stac, deep inside the Arctic Circle. There, new dangers wait — and old secrets refuse to stay buried. If you like your suspense cold, tense, and very bingeable, start here.
2. “Unstoppable” – Premiering January 16, 2025
“Unstoppable” tells the true story of Anthony Robles, a wrestler born without a right leg who fought his way to an NCAA championship. Jharrel Jerome is outstanding as Robles. Jennifer Lopez shines as his fiercely supportive mother. Produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, it is a heartfelt reminder of what determination looks like. Bring tissues — the happy-tears kind.
3. “Molly-Mae: Behind It All” – Premiering January 17, 2025
This intimate docuseries follows Molly-Mae Hague, the English reality star and entrepreneur, through a very public year. She opens up about motherhood, business, and life after her split from ex-fiancé Tommy Fury. Reality TV fans will find it honest, polished, and very bingeable.
4. “Harlem” Season 3 – Premiering January 23, 2025
The beloved comedy “Harlem” returns for its third and final season. It follows four ambitious friends as they juggle careers, relationships, and growing up in New York City. The writing is sharp, the cast is wonderful, and the heart is real. We will miss these ladies.
5. “You’re Cordially Invited” – Premiering January 30, 2025
Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon headline this cheerful wedding comedy. Two weddings get double-booked at the same island venue, on the same day. Neither family will budge, so chaos — and a surprising amount of heart — follows. It closed out the Amazon Prime Video January 2025 premieres in style.
6. “On Call” – Premiered January 9, 2025
From Dick Wolf, the mastermind behind “Law & Order,” comes “On Call,” a propulsive police procedural set in Long Beach, California. It follows veteran training officer Traci Harmon and her rookie partner, Alex Diaz, as they answer emergency calls. The twist? Tight half-hour episodes that fly by. Perfect weeknight viewing.
7. “Blink Twice” – Premiering January 21, 2025
Zoë Kravitz makes her directorial debut with this sleek psychological thriller. Naomi Ackie plays Frida, a cocktail waitress swept off to tech billionaire Slater King’s private island. The luxury is dazzling — and something is deeply wrong. Stylish and unsettling, it lingers long after the credits. One note: it deals with mature themes, including sexual violence, so check the content warnings first if that is a concern.
8. Classic Films Added to Prime Video
The Amazon Prime Video January 2025 additions didn’t stop at new originals. The library also welcomed a few beloved favorites:
- “A Quiet Place: Day One” – Available January 1, 2025: The gripping prequel that reveals the day the silence began.
- “The Social Network” – Available January 1, 2025: The sharp, endlessly quotable story of Facebook’s messy beginnings.
- “Jurassic World” – Available January 16, 2025: Dinosaurs, disaster, and pure blockbuster fun in the film that rebooted the franchise.
- “Scarface” – Available January 31, 2025: Al Pacino’s iconic turn as Tony Montana in the definitive crime saga.
