We were super excited about this trip – we had been planning and booking everything for 3 whole months! This wasn’t just our first vacation in Boracay as husband and wife, but also our first time flying together. We couldn’t wait!

We got to the airport early – right at 5:00 am! The place was buzzing with people getting ready for their flights. Some travelers were rushing by, talking excitedly about their trips. Others were relaxing at food stalls with hot coffee, looking forward to their journeys.
Security check was easy, and we went straight to the food court. There was a short line at Cinnabon, but it moved fast. Luckily, a table opened up quickly so we could finally enjoy their famous cinnamon rolls and bonbites. We also had comforting lattes to give us energy for the plane ride.
Breakfast isn’t my favorite meal, but traveling with my husband has changed things! Cinnabon at the airport, though? That was tempting. It seemed like the perfect way to kick off our trip together.
Shortly after, our boarding gate announcement echoed through the terminal. We followed the signs and settled in for the wait, getting more excited as boarding time got closer. Soon enough, we boarded a shuttle bus that would take us to the airplane.

We booked our Boracay stay at Savoy Hotel Boracay using the Agoda app. We chose this hotel for two reasons: first, because we had a great experience at their branch near Naia Terminal 3, and second, based on a recommendation from a friend.

Navigating the Tropical Gateway: Our Journey from Caticlan Airport to Caticlan Jetty Port and onto Cagban Jetty Port
Our plane touched down smoothly at Caticlan Airport, right on schedule. The pilot’s masterful landing had everyone – myself included – breathing a sigh of relief and feeling grateful for a safe arrival.
Following clear instructions, we waited for the shuttle that would transport us to Caticlan Jetty Port. The van ride from Caticlan Airport to Caticlan Jetty Port typically takes around 10 to 15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
Fortunately, the wait wasn’t long before our ride arrived. Booking our transfer with Savoy Airport Transfer was a smart decision – it ensured a smooth and stress-free start to our vacation!
At Caticlan Jetty Port, we quickly received our boarding pass for the ferry to Boracay Island (Cagban Jetty Port). Admiringly, the diligent staff were there every step of the way, ensuring a smooth experience.
We didn’t have to wait in long lines or deal with payments. The hotel had thoughtfully taken care of everything in advance. This eliminated any stress about ferry tickets or payments, freeing us up to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
However, it’s important to pay close attention to the staff’s instructions. Transfers are typically organized in batches. With a large number of tourists arriving, it’s a good idea to take a moment to observe and familiarize yourself with the group around you. The animated atmosphere can be a bit confusing, so staying aware will help things go smoothly.
Beach Bliss: Welcome to Boracay!
We reached the Savoy Hotel just in time for lunch! The friendly staff members greeted us warmly and even surprised us with an early check-in. Stepping into our room, we were immediately impressed by the stunning ocean view.
One of the highlights for us, based on our experience at Savoy Manila, was their delicious breakfast. After getting settled in, we decided to grab lunch at Savoy Cafe and decided to try their Four Cheese Pizza. It turned out to be a fantastic choice: the thin crust was perfectly crisp, and each slice boasted a creamy blend of cheeses, including a subtle tang from the blue cheese that really stood out.
We both loved how flavorful and satisfying it was—definitely one of the highlights of our first day. To top it all off, the servers were incredibly attentive, ensuring our glasses stayed filled and checking in on us often.
We snagged a copy of the hotel’s activity list to browse our options and plan our itinerary. (Sorry about the blurry picture! lol!) Our first pick? Booking a sunrise-watching experience (5:30am) at Cove 2.
The hotel itself was well maintained and spotless. We especially appreciated the convenient water dispensers located throughout the hallways, keeping us hydrated on the go.
Savoy Hotel boasts a peaceful location next to Belmont Hotel, offering a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle. It’s just a 15-minute shuttle ride from Station 1, so venturing out is still a breeze. In fact, the hotel provides a free shuttle service – just remember to book your spot in advance!

Station 2 is where all the action is – tons of restaurants to try, shops to peek in at, and the beautiful beach scene. Day 1 in Boracay is officially a wrap! We appreciate how smooth everything went, from the easy airport transfer to relaxing in our cozy room at Savoy Hotel. We’re thankful to all the friendly faces we met along the way too! Everyone from the hotel staff to the locals were super helpful, whether it was pointing us in the right direction, lending a hand with our bags, or just giving us a friendly smile. It really makes a difference!
